Condition: Urine Retention •  Deficient Type
Treatment: Warm and tonify Spleen and Kidney by using points mainly from Kidney, Bladder, Back Shu, and Conception Vessel meridians.
Description: Forceless dribbling or urine, palor complexion, listlessness, lumbar soreness, weakness of the four limbs, pale tongue proper, deep thready pulse.
Comment: CV6 *Avoid puncturing bladder

Point Selection:
BL20 • Pi Shu • On the middle back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the eleventh thoracic vertebra (T11).
Spleen Shu. Back Shu of the Spleen that connects with Front Mu LR13.
Explanation: Tonify Kidney and Spleen Qi.

BL22 • San Jiao Shu • On the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the first lumbar vertebra (L1).
CautionAvoid the Kidneys
Triple Burner Shu. Back Shu of the Triple Energizer that connects with Front Mu CV5.
Explanation: Back Shu of the Sanjiao.

BL23 • Shen Shu • On the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra (L2).
CautionAvoid the Kidneys.
Kidney Shu. Back Shu of the Kidney that connects with Front Mu GB25.
Explanation: Tonify Kidney and Spleen Qi.

BL39 • Wei Yang • In the popliteal fossa, at the lateral crease, medial to the becips femoris tendon.
Bend Yang. Lower He Sea Point on the Triple Energizer Channel.
Explanation: Regulate Qi activity of the Sanjiao.

CV6 • Qi Hai • On the lower abdomen, on the anterior midline, 1.5 cun inferior to the umbilicus.
Sea of Qi. Front Mu Point for Sea of Qi that connects with Back Shu BL24.
Explanation: Sea of Qi. *Avoid puncturing bladder

KI10 • Yin Gu • On the medial side of the popliteal fossa, in the depression between tendons of semitendinosus and semimembranosus muscles when the knee is flexed.
Yin Valley. He Sea Point on the Kidney Channel. Water Point on Water Meridian.
Explanation: Tonify Kidney and Spleen Qi.
